Design a logo and brand for a business development company focused on the funeral services industry.
The solution
How do you keep the fire burning on a remarkable fifty-year career in the tight knit and challenging funeral services industry? You use your deep industry knowledge and connections to ignite interest in new businesses, helping them to break into and thrive in the sector. This logo design presented an interesting challenge as it needed to represent not just the business but also the founder as well. It needed to tell the story of not just wisdom and expertise but also of resilience.
Selecting a torch as a motif made sense as it symbolizes renewal, enlightenment, and enduring spirit. This was then integrated with the letter “R”, the initial of the company name, to further interweave the company with the symbolism and values associated with the torch motif. To add to this, the merger of these 2 elements also makes the logomark visually interesting and memorable. The choice of using a heavy san-serif font further reinforces the feeling of resilience and confidence while giving the logo impact and a modern feel. Last but not least, the application of a solid black colour onto the logo gives it a strong, sophisticated, and confident look.
The resulting logo embodies the enduring legacy and leadership of the company owner. Whose company mission is to shine a light, fueled by decades of experience and hard-earned wisdom, on new businesses looking to break into the funeral services industry. Revealing to others their new and innovative products and services. All the while reminding the industry that his fire still burns bright now and into the future.
